Master Class by Terence McNally has opened in the Playhouse of Adealide's Festival Centre. The production sees one of Australia's most popular actors Amanda Muggleton take on the role of Maria Callas in the season which continues until May 30.
Amanda Muggleton is best known as Australia's Shirley Valentine having played the title role of that play in numerous seasons over the last eight years throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Following this season she goes to Sydney to portray Diana Vreeland in Full Gallop.
Master Class was staged in Australia last year by the Queensland Theatre Company with Robyn Nevin in the lead role but this production only played seasons in Brisbane and Sydney. Rodney Fisher has directed the production for the State Theatre Company of South Australia and it has opened to excellent reviews.
