Stacy Shane will moderate the chat at the TBG Theater, 312 West 36th Street 3rd Floor, in Manhattan. The play reveals a lesser-known chapter in gay history, when Harry Hay formed the gay rights organization known as the Mattachine Society. The play's title references a now outmoded euphemism for "homosexual."

MANunderdog and Daryl Roth present the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan plays Harry Hay and Michael Urie (TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich, with Tom Beckett, Matthew Schneck and Sam Breslin Wright. The acclaimed play is directed by Jonathan Silverstein.

Joe Masteroff (the librettist of Cabaret and She Loves Me) is a Tony Award winner. He served with the Air Force during World War II. He studied with the American Theatre Wing from 1949-1951 and began his career as an actor, making his Broadway debut in The Prescott Proposals in 1953.

Marle Becker is a long-time gay activist and the co-host of the popular show "Out NY/FM" on WBAI. He has also been a music critic for the station and was the former host for a number of years of radio's "The Gay Show. He is also a past board of directors member for Stonewall Democratic Club; Gay Veterans Association; Gay Performance Company; Village Visiting Neighbors Association as well as a member of the Steering Committee Metro New York Names Project (AIDS Quilt) and Heritage of Price to only name a few.

Marans' Old Wicked Songs was a 1996 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama, winner of New York Drama League and L.A. Drama Logue Award. The play weaves together the personal and political to tell a relatively unknown chapter in gay history. It explores the love between two complex men, as their impossible dream of forming such an unheard of organization becomes a reality in this perilous, unpredictable world. It is an intimate portrayal of the men who created history and the epic struggles they overcame. The characters consist of the actual men who founded the Mattachine Society (Harry Hay, Rudi Gernreich, Chuck Rowland, Bob Hull, and Dale Jennings), as well as other prominent figures of the time."
