Directed by Steven Yuhasz, the production will officially open Nov. 18 at 7 PM for a limited engagement through Jan. 4, 2014.
Hostetler joins a cast that includes the previously reported three-time Tony nominee Dee Hoty, Tom Galantich, Adria Vitlar and Nicholas Urda. He replaces Richard Thierot, who has accepted a role in Luna Gale, a world premiere drama at the Goodman Theatre directed by Robert Falls.
In The Preacher and The Shrink, press notes state, "a spirited young woman makes a sexual accusation which checkmates her father, a popular and respected pastor. They have been estranged for years by a deep grief. Will she follow through? Will he fight back? Even the psychiatrist (Dee Hoty) who tries to help becomes conflicted when middle age romance develops."
The production will also feature set design by Brian Prather with lighting design by Kirk Bookman, costume design by Carol Sherry and sound design by Patrick Weaver.
