The Off-Broadway production from The New Group will now play through April 1.

The Off-Broadway premiere of Jerry Springer—The Opera will welcome Matt McGrath in the title role beginning March 13. The Olivier Award-winning musical comedy, previously scheduled to play through March 11, will now run through April 1. McGrath takes over for Terrence Mann, who is unable to stay with the show through its extension.

Directed by John Rando and choreographed by Chris Bailey, Jerry Springer plays in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Previews began January 23 ahead of a February 22 opening.

Completing the cast of the New Group production are Tony nominee Will Swenson, Jennifer Allen, Florrie Bagel, Brandon Contreras, Sean Patrick Doyle, Brad Greer, Luke Grooms, Nathaniel Hackmann, Billy Hepfinger, Justin Keyes, Beth Kirkpatrick, Elizabeth Loyacano, Tiffany Mann, Jill Paice, Kim Steel, and Nichole Turner.

McGrath has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret and A Streetcar Named Desire. His Off-Broadway credits include Keen Company's Lonely Planet, The Legend of Georgia McBride at MCC, The New Group's production of Steve, and Verite at LCT3 Lincoln Center, among many more.

Jerry Springer – The Opera features a score by Richard Thomas, who also penned the book and lyrics with Stewart Lee.
