News   Matthew Bourne's Production of Lord of the Flies Will Launch U.K. National Tour

Lord of the Flies, Matthew Bourne's stage adaptation of William Golding's novel of the same name that Bourne has adapted and directed with Scott Ambler, will launch a U.K. national tour April 2, 2014, at Salford's Lowry Theatre.

It will subsequently visit Plymouth, Birmingham, Inverness, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Canterbury, London's Sadler's Wells (Oct. 8-11), Cardiff, Newcastle, Norwich and Bradford.

Presented by New Adventures and Re: Bourne, it is choreographed by Scott Ambler. Set and costumes are by Lez Brotherston, with music by Terry Davies, lighting by Chris Davey and sound by Paul Groothuis.

In the show, the action is transferred from deserted island to deserted theatre. A group of schoolboys find themselves abandoned. With no adults around they start to make their own rules and create their own civilization, before order breaks down and the story builds to an electrifying climax.
