The Mary Rodgers/Marshall Barer/Jay Thompson/Dean Fuller revival opened on Broadway, Dec. 19, 1996. The new recording is produced by Jay David Saks and engineered by James Nichols, with musical direction and vocal arrangements by Eric Stern (The King And I, Carousel). Bruce Coughlin created the orchestrations for the revival, which was recorded Jan. 6 at NY's Hit Factory. On Broadway, Gerald Gutierrez served as director, with Liza Gennaro creating the choreography.

Songs from the production, which features Parker as spunky Princess Winnifred, include "Shy," "Sensitivity," and the newly composed, "Goodnight Sweet Princess."

March 25 was a big day for Mary Rodgers -- Varese Sarabande also released the cast recording of 1996's cabaret show, Hey, Love: The Songs Of Mary Rodgers, a hit at NY's Rainbow & Stars.

The show originally played under the title, "3 Of Hearts," which was a re working of a revue at Eighty-Eight's called "Hey, Love." Songs on the CD include Prince doing "Shy" (from Mattress), "The Boy From" (from The Mad Show), "Who Knows/I Know" (from Hot Spot, with revised lyrics), and a tune penned in 1996, "Double Or Nothing." The recording boasts a seven-piece band, including reeds, cello and harp. Hearts starred Faith Prince (The King And I), Jason Workman (Bed And Sofa) and Mark Waldrop. The trio reprise their roles for the CD, which is produced by Bruce Kimmel and features musical direction by Patrick Brady.
