Hughes is a Tony Award winner for directing Doubt; Tony nominee Pill (The Lieutenant of Inishmore) is wrapping up Blackbird for MTC Off-Broadway; and Cannavale appeared in Hurlyburly Off-Broadway and TV's "Will & Grace."

This will mark the Broadway debut of Rebeck — a Pulitzer Prize finalist known for Omnium Gatherum — and Cannavale.

Mauritius, the first production of MTC's 2007-08 season, will begin previews at the Biltmore Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Sept. 13 and open Oct. 4.

The play is a co-production with the Huntington Theatre Company, which recently received the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Production for the world-premiere production of the play.

According to MTC, "Jackie (Alison Pill) and Mary are half-sisters whose mother's death leaves them in possession of a rare stamp collection. But which sister actually owns the stamps? Which of three dealers can be trusted with their sale? And where do we choose to live: the present or the past? Tightly woven and ever-surprising, this sinister comedy marks Theresa Rebeck's Broadway debut."

It's billed as "a gripping new play" from the author of The Scene, Bad Dates and Omnium Gatherum, for which Rebeck and her co-author were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Additional casting for the production will be announced at a later date.

Director Doug Hughes is currently represented on Broadway with the Tony-nominated revival of Inherit The Wind starring Brian Dennehy and Christopher Plummer. Cannavale won the Emmy Award for his recurring role on "Will & Grace."

The creative team will include John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design) and David Van Tieghem (original music and sound design).
