The engagement at Off-Broadway's Lamb's Theatre comes in the same summer as the release of George Lucas' "Episode III — Revenge of the Sith," the final installment in the series of films that began with "Star Wars." (The new picture opened nationwide at 12:01 AM May 19.)

Ross' solo show focuses on the space adventures seen in "Star Wars," "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

"Imagine Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C3PO, Chewbacca and R2D2 — all on-stage, all performed by one actor," the production notes tease. "Charles Ross, the writer and solo performer, plays all the characters, recreates the effects, sings the music, flies the ships, wields the swords and fights both sides of the battles. Ross spent much of his childhood in a galaxy far, far away, while his adulthood has been similar. He has portrayed a giant caterpillar, taught children about conservation and performed with such respected groups as the Eclectic Circus, Theatre SKAM and the Western Canada Theatre Company."

LucasFilms, creator of the "Star Wars" trilogy, "loved the show so much that they hired Charles Ross to promote the upcoming 'Star Wars' film and appear at Celebration III, the officially-sanctioned 'Star Wars' Convention." Big Leap Productions presents the production, which will play a limited engagement to Oct. 31. The Lamb's is at 130 W. 44th Street.

One-Man Star Wars Trilogy is directed by TJ Dawe, with lighting design by Mike Schaldmose.

Charles Ross is a British Columbia actor who has worked for Nova Scotia's Neptune Theatre, Festival Antigonish, Willpower Theatre and Two Planks and A Passion. British Columbia audiences would have seen Ross, a graduate of the University of Victoria with a BFA in performance, in Victoria at Eclectic Circus and Theatre SKAM, in Prince George at Theatre North West, in Kamloops, at Western Canada Theatre Company, and in Barkerville Historic Town as a historical interpreter. For schools on Alberta, he played giant caterpillar with Evergreen Theatre, teaching about habitat conservation.

Ross first performed One-Man Star Wars Trilogy in Toronto in January 2001, and one year later in Kamloops, BC. The show returned to Toronto in 2002 and since then people in Orlando (Florida), Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria, Vancouver, Chicago, Dubuque, and elsewhere have felt his force.

Director Dawe is a Vancouver-based writer/performer.

Tickets are $39. Performances are Tuesday at 8 PM, Wednesday at 3 PM and 8 PM, Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 8 PM and Saturday at 10:30 PM. For tickets, call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or visit www.telecharge.com, or visit the Lamb's box office.
