From Feb. 16-20, Mazzie and Danieley will take part in Get Happy—The Harold Arlen Songbook at Verizon Hall in Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Show times are Feb. 16 and 18 at 8 PM, Feb. 19 at 2 PM and Feb. 20 at 3 PM. Harold Arlen, perhaps best known for his score to "The Wizard of Oz," also wrote the music for Broadway's Bloomer Girl, St. Louis Woman, House of Flowers, Jamaica and Saratoga. Some of Arlen's many songs include "I've Got the World on a String," "Last Night When We Were Young," "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," "Blues in the Night," "It's Only a Paper Moon," "My Shining Hour," "What's Good About Goodbye," "If I Only Had a Brain," "Over the Rainbow" and "Stormy Weather."
Jason Danieley, who is currently playing Dr. Rey in the Signature Theatre's production of The Highest Yellow, was most recently on Broadway as Malcolm MacGregor in The Full Monty, a role he repeated in London. For his Broadway debut in Candide, he received a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination. His other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Strike Up the Band as well as Off Broadway runs in Dream True and Floyd Collins.
A three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; and Passion, Marin Mazzie's other theatrical credits include Into the Woods, Big River, The World Goes 'Round, the City Center Encores! production of Out of this World and Off-Broadway's The Trojan Women: A love Story, where she met husband Danieley. Mazzie also played a run in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, where she earned an Olivier Award nomination for her work.
