News Mazzie, Prince and Barrowman Sing Herman on PBS Tribute July 8 "Evening at Pops" presents A Tribute to Jerry Herman July 8.

Those in the metropolitan area will be able to enjoy the Herman tribute when the program — which was taped May 10 and 12 — airs on WLIW (Channel 21) from 8-9 PM ET. WLIW will also rebroadcast the celebration July 15 at 2 AM. Check local listings.

Under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart, the musical evening featured the talents of Ragtime’s Marin Mazzie, Guys and Dolls’ Faith Prince and Putting It Together’s John Barrowman. The threesome performed the tunes of the composer of Mame, La Cage aux Folles, Mack and Mabel and Hello, Dolly!. David Thompson wrote the tribute, which featured direction by Scott Ellis, choreography by Tara Young and musical preparation by David Chase.

A three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; and Passion, Marin Mazzie recently joined the current revival of Man of La Mancha. Her other theatrical credits include Into the Woods, Big River, The World Goes 'Round, the City Center Encores! production of Out of this World and Off-Broadway's The Trojan Women: A love Story, where she met husband, actor Jason Danieley. Mazzie also starred in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, where she earned an Olivier Award nomination for her work.

Faith Prince won a Tony Award for her performance as Adelaide in the Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls, and this past season she starred Off-Broadway in the Lincoln Center production of A Man of No Importance. Her numerous Broadway credits also include Noises Off, Bells Are Ringing, James Joyce's The Dead, Little Me, The King and I, What's Wrong with This Picture?, Nick & Nora and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. Her solo recording, "Leap of Faith," was recorded live at Joe's Pub and is available from DRG Records.

John Barrowman starred on Broadway in the Sondheim revue Putting It Together and also made a guest appearance in the New York company of Sunset Boulevard, repeating his London role as Joe Gillis. Barrowman's other London theatrical credits include Grease!, Anything Goes, The Phantom of the Opera, The Fix, Miss Saigon and Beauty and the Beast. Last summer he starred as Bobby in the critically acclaimed production of Company at the Kennedy Center. He also starred on two U.S. television programs, "Central Park West" and "Titans."
