Manhattan Class Company's (MCC) ninth annual Summer Play Party is assisting high school playwrights take the leap from the page to the stage by helping them mount their original works through Aug. 27.
MCC's co-artistic directors, Robert LuPone and Bernard Telsey and program director James Bosley selected eight works by New York City high school kids for presentation in the program which started Aug. 22 and runs through Aug. 27.
The young playwrights are encouraged to pursue writing and to explore dramatic expression for their works by seeing their plays done by actors, directors and theatre professionals and presented to an audience comprising family, friends, educators and the public.
