The musical, featuring an adaptation by David Thompson and direction by Michael Unger, will run through Dec. 26. Previews began Dec. 5 in Princeton, NJ.

The cast is headed by Broadway veteran Graeme Malcolm as Ebenezer Scrooge with Justin Blanchard (Jacob Marley), Cherise Boothe (Christmas Present), Bill Buell (Mr. Fezziwig), Janet Metz (Mrs. Cratchit), Michele Tauber (Mrs. Fezziwig), James Ludwig (Fred), Piper Goodeve (Fan), Rachel Baker (Charlotte Fezziwig), Jonathan Crombie (Bob Cratchit), Chris Dunlop (Young Scrooge), Pippa Pearthree (Mrs. Dilber) and Stephanie Umoh (Lily/Belle).

Young Ensemble members are Cara Barkenbush (West Windsor), Mariel Edokwe (Princeton), Kate Fahey (Richboro, PA), Annika Goldman (Princeton), Danny Hallowell (Skillman), Noah Hinsdale (Princeton Junction), Ileena Irin Irving (Belle Mead), Matthew Kuenne (Princeton), Adam LeCompte (Lawrence Township), Camryn McAuliffe (Skillman), Elsa and Tom Rodriguez (Cranford), Hope Springer (Crosswicks) and Jake Urban (Flemington).

Members of the Adult Ensemble include Neville Braithwaite, Mary Leigh Christine, Kara Dombrowski, Justin Flexen, Timothy Grady, Brody Hessin, K.C. Leiber, Mike Miller, Emma Ritchie and Nicholas Yenson.

A Christmas Carol, according to McCarter, is Charles Dickens' "timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his magical journey into Christmas past, present, and future." "This production is truly a gift not only to our audiences but to everyone involved," stated McCarter producing director Mara Isaacs. "Whether you are nine or 99, the play never ceases to delight and amuse with its large cast of characters and timeless theme of redemption. Charles Dickens reminds us of the power we all possess to make the world a better place to live. People who remember seeing A Christmas Carol when it began at McCarter 30 years ago will be surprised to see how much it has evolved over the years."
