McGillis, Baranski, Keitel Salute Kahn at Shakespeare Society Event Sept. 20

News   McGillis, Baranski, Keitel Salute Kahn at Shakespeare Society Event Sept. 20 Michael Kahn, Juilliard drama division director and artistic director of D.C.'s Shakespeare Theatre, will received the Shakespeare Society Medal at a Sept. 20 ceremony at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in Manhattan.

Expected to be on hand to pay tribute to Kahn are Christine Baranski, Harvey Keitel, Richard Thomas and Avery Brooks. Also, Kelly McGillis and Patrick Page—the stars of the current production of Macbeth at D.C.'s Shakespeare Theatre—will perform something called The Macbeths’ Murderous Marriage. The Shakespeare Society Medal, given "in recognition of distinguished contribution to the world of William Shakespeare," has also been awarded to Harold Bloom, Derek Jacobi, Claire Bloom, Sir Peter Hall and Christopher Plummer.

The Shakespeare Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to "the enjoyment, understanding, and appreciation of the works of William Shakespeare."
