Variety reports that McKechnie will instead star in the upcoming West End debut of the 1974 Andrews Sisters musical Over Here!, which will also feature Tony Award winner Frances Ruffelle. McKechnie will also be busy promoting her new autobiography, "Time Steps: My Musical Comedy Life," which is due in stores in September from Simon & Schuster. Casting for the Barrington production of Jerry Herman's Mame is currently underway. Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will helm the production, which is set to run Oct. 4-15. Diane J. Findlay had previously been announced to play Mame's boozy friend Vera Charles.

The industry paper also says that Ella, the new musical about the late "First Lady of Song," Ella Fitzgerald, which was scheduled to close Barrington's 2006 season, has been postponed in order for renovation work to continue at the Berkshire Music Hall. Rob Ruggiero, Dyke Garrison and Jeffrey Hatcher's musical may play the Barrington next summer.
