News McPherson's Shining City Aiming at Broadway in Fall 2005 Conor McPherson's play Shining City may reach Broadway next season. According a casting notice in Back Stage, producers Barry and Fran Weissler are aiming at a fall 2005 bow.

McPherson is listed as the director of the piece, which has played to positive critical response in London and Dublin. It would be McPherson's second visit to Broadway, following The Weir, which ran for 277 performances in 1999. His other works, including The Lime Tree Bower and St. Nicholas, have all been staged Off-Broadway.

The notice describes the plot thusly: "In Dublin, a man comes to a therapist seeking help, claiming to have seen the ghost of his recently deceased wife. What begins as just an unusual encounter becomes a desperate struggle between the living and the dead—a struggle which will shape and define both men for the rest of their lives."

The show was produced in London by the Royal Court Theatre and in Dublin by the Gate Theatre.
