News McQueen, Ryan, Walton, Eskew and Barry-Hill Set for CTG's Ain't Misbehavin' Complete casting has been announced for the Center Theatre Group's upcoming production of the Tony-winning Fats Waller revue Ain't Misbehavin', which will begin previews April 18 at the Ahmanson Theatre.

Conceived and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., the production will officially open at the California venue April 24 and continue through May 31.

The cast will comprise Eugene Barry-Hill, Doug Eskew, Armelia McQueen (who was in the original cast), Roz Ryan and Debra Walton.

Choreography is by Arthur Faria, who staged the original production. William McDaniel is the music director.

Conceived and originally directed by Maltby, Jr., Ain't Misbehavin' was based on an idea by Maltby, Jr. and Murray Horwitz. The original 1978 Broadway production made a star out of its leading lady, the late Nell Carter, and featured such Fats Waller tunes as "Mean to Me," "Honeysuckle Rose," "Black and Blue" and the title tune. The musical won Tonys for Best Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Carter) and Best Direction of a Musical (Maltby, Jr.).
