The musical, based on the 2004 comedy, features a book by original screenwriter Tina Fey, marking her Broadway debut.

The long-awaited musical adaptation of Mean Girls officially opens April 8 after beginning previews last month at the August Wilson Theatre. The show features music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and a book by Tina Fey, who makes her Broadway debut after appearing in and penning the screenplay for the 2004 comedy.

The production, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, made its world premiere last fall at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Leading the cast is Erika Henningsen (Les Misérables) as high school fresh face Cady Heron (played on screen by Lindsay Lohan). Bringing the Plastics, the vicious clique Heron infiltrates, are Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots) as queen bee Regina George, Ashley Park (Sunday in the Park with George) as Gretchen Wieners, and Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages) as Karen Smith.

The company also includes Tony nominee Kerry Butler as Ms. Norbury, Grey Henson as Damian, Cheech Manohar as Kevin Gnapoor, Kyle Selig as Aaron Samuels, Barrett Wilbert Weed as Janis Sarkisian, and Rick Younger as Mr. Duvall.

Rounding out the ensemble are Stephanie Lynn Bissonnette, Tee Boyich, Collins Conley, Ben Cook, DeMarius R. Copes, Kevin Csolak, Devon Hadsell, Curtis Holland, Myles McHale,Chris Medlin, Brittany Nicholas, Becca Petersen, Nikhil Saboo,Jonalyn Saxer, Brendon Stimson, Riza Takahashi, Kamille Upshaw,Zurin Villanueva, Gianna Yanelli, and Iain Young.

The Broadway engagement offers lotteries both in-person and digitally for each performance. Additionally, day-of rush tickets will be sold for Wednesday performances only to those wearing pink (a nod to one of the Plastics' dress code rules). Those wearing a pink, visible article of clothing or accessory can purchase up to two tickets at $42.50 each, subject to availability, once the box office opens at 10 AM.
Mean Girls features set design by Scott Pask, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Brian Ronan, video design by Finn Ross and Adam Young, hair design by Josh Marquette, and make-up design by Milagros Medina-Cerdeira. The creative team also includes orchestrator John Clancy, music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell, and music coordinator Howard Joines. Glen Kelly provides additional music arrangements. Casting is by Telsey + Company/Bethany Knox, CSA.
