Meet Lysistrata Jones' Leading Lady, Patti Murin (Video)

PlayBlog   Meet Lysistrata Jones' Leading Lady, Patti Murin (Video) Patti Murin will play the title role in Lysistrata Jones, the new Off-Broadway musical that puts an Ancient Greek classic on a basketball court — literally. The New York premiere of Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn's show is set to begin performances May 15 in the Judson Memorial Church Gymnasium in Greenwich Village.

"The Athens University basketball team hasn't won a game in 30 years. But when spunky transfer student Lysistrata Jones dares the squad's fed-up girlfriends to stop 'giving it up' to their boyfriends until they win a game, their legendary losing streak could be coming to an end," according to press notes.

Here, Murin introduces herself and talks about her childhood experiences on stage, her dream role and her secret to a great audition.

The cast of Lysistrata Jones also includes Alexander Aguilar (Uardo), Katie Boren (Lampito Kanagawa), Lindsay Chambers (Robin/Shelley), Max Kumangai (Tyllus), Liz Mikel (Heterai), Kat Nejat (Cleonice), Josh Segarra (Mick), LaQuet Sharnell (Mhyrinne), Jason Tam (Xander), Teddy Toye (Harold) and Alex Wyse (Cinesius).
