Melba Moore will recall the days when she performed in Broadway's Hair and Purlie in a new cabaret show called Sweet Songs of the Soul: A Journey Through One Life Aug. 2-30 at the Sugar Bar in Manhattan.

In the show, she'll share life struggles and joys, from age four to today. Musical numbers include "Summertime," "Easy to Be Hard" and her Purlie show-stopper, "I Got Love."

Moore played the role of Dionne in Hair, and then hit even bigger as Lutibelle in the 1969-70 Broadway musical, Purlie, based on Purlie Victorious. She took home the Featured Actress (Musical) Tony Award for her performance.

She has also in concert and in the miniseries "Ellis Island." Her recording hits include "You Stepped Into My Life," "This Is It" and "Lean on Me."
