Broadway star Melissa Errico is planning to light the fuse on her Independence Day concert Broadway Firecracker July 3 at Birdland Jazz Club in New York.
The 7 PM concert will feature “sexy and heartfelt songs of Hollywood & Broadway in the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s,’’ notably songs originally made famous by Doris Day, Peggy Lee, and Judy Garland, a set list inspired by her recent concerts with Michael Feinstein, including her Carnegie Hall debut. Material will include “Friendly Star,” “Blue Room,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
Her Birdland show is being directed by Scott Barnes, with musical direction by Tedd Firth.
Tickets cost $40 (plus a $10 food/drink minimum) and can be ordered at BirdlandJazz.com.
