Broadway star Melissa Errico is planning to light the fuse on her Independence Day concert Broadway Firecracker July 3 at Birdland Jazz Club in New York.

The 7 PM concert will feature “sexy and heartfelt songs of Hollywood & Broadway in the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s,’’ notably songs originally made famous by Doris Day, Peggy Lee, and Judy Garland, a set list inspired by her recent concerts with Michael Feinstein, including her Carnegie Hall debut. Material will include “Friendly Star,” “Blue Room,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

Errico has been nominated for five Drama Desk Awards (for her performances in My Fair Lady, The Importance of Being Earnest, High Society, Candida, and Passion), and one Tony Award (Amour).

Her Birdland show is being directed by Scott Barnes, with musical direction by Tedd Firth.

Tickets cost $40 (plus a $10 food/drink minimum) and can be ordered at
