Variety reports that the two actors will take part in a reading of Roger Rosenblatt's Ashley Montana Goes Ashore in the Caicos or What Am I Doing Here? They will be joined by Matt McGrath and Gretchen Cleevly. Part of the Southampton College Writing Program, the Conference, according to the college's official website, "provides a forum for authors of all genres to study and discuss writing. Through workshops, lectures, readings, and small-group discussions, the Conference offers inspiration and guidance to new writers, established writers, teachers of writing, editors, and qualified auditors." The conference runs July 14-25.

Mercedes Ruehl won a Tony Award for her work in Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers and was nominated for her performances in The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? and The Shadow Box. Her other theatre credits include Other People's Money, The Marriage of Bette and Boo and I'm Not Rappaport.

Alan Alda was Tony-nominated for his performances in Jake's Women and The Apple Tree. A Theatre World Award winner for his work in Fair Game for Lovers, his other Broadway credits include Only in America, Purlie Victorious, Cafe Crown, The Owl and the Pussycat, Art and QED.
