As previously reported, Streep co-stars with Academy Award winner Kevin Kline in "Ricki and the Flash." The script features Streep as a woman who, seeking fame and fortune as a rock star, abandoned her family. Decades later, she decides to be a mother again to her estranged children, one of whom is going through a divorce. Marc Platt produces the film that also stars Rick Springsteen.

Streep's real-life daughter, Mamie Gummer, also plays the role on screen. The film will also feature Rick Springfield, Sebastian Stan and six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as well as Ben Platt, who is fresh off his run in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon.

Platt, who also stars in "Pitch Perfect 2," will portray a local bartender who worships Ricki (Streep). In a recent interview, the actor told Playbill.com, "I feel very confident going in, but of course I'm going to be shaking in my boots next to Meryl Streep."

Jonathan Demme directs the film that has a screenplay by Diablo Cody. The film is set for a June 26 release.
