Six leading actresses will share the role of Callas: Kathy Bates, Dixie Carter, Swoosie Kurtz, Chita Rivera, Leslie Uggams, and Edie Falco.

Jay Hunter Morris, who played Tony in the original production, and David Loud, who played Manny, will reprise their roles. Sherry Boone will play Sharon; Donna Lynne Champlin (Sweeney Todd) will play Sophie. Leonard Foglia, who directed the original production, will also return.

Zoe Caldwell, who originated the role of Maria Callas, and McNally, an opera fan who often appears on the Met's Opera Quiz broadcasts, will also be on hand.

Master Class depicts the classes that Callas led in 1971 at the Juilliard School. It opened in November 1995 and won the 1996 Tony Award for best play. Caldwell won the award for best actress, and Audra McDonald won best featured actress for her portrayal of Sharon, a character based on soprano Barbara Hendricks.

The evening also includes a gala dinner at the Marriott Marquis. Proceeds will benefit the Met Guild's education programs. Tickets are $750 or $1,000 for the performance and dinner and $85 and $250 for the performance only. For tickets and information, call 212-769-7009 or visit www.metguild.org.
