Classic Arts News Metropolitan Opera and WQXR Launch New Opera Podcast Aria Code Hosted by Rhiannon Giddens, the 10-episode podcast examines one famous aria per episode.

Opera buffs have an extra reason to celebrate this holiday season: The Metropolitan Opera and WQXR's Aria Code.

Each episode of the podcast—hosted by singer and actor Rhiannon Giddens—looks at a different, famed aria. Utilizing the Met's audio archives, the series finds Giddens and different experts and fans—ranging from Placido Domingo to Rufus Wainwright—contextualizing, commenting, and raving about the aria in question. Released episodes so far have covered La Traviata, Otello, and La Boheme.

Episodes are released every Tuesday through February 6, 2019, at AriaCode.org, and all other podcast platforms.
