Broadway News Michael Arden, Ian Lassiter, and Justin Cunningham Complete Cast of Glenda Jackson-Led King Lear The production, directed by Sam Gold, begins February 28 at the Cort Theatre.

Broadway actor and director Michael Arden, a Tony nominee for his direction of Deaf West's Spring Awakening and the Tony-winning revival of Once On This Island, plays the Aide to Cornwall in the Broadway revival of William Shakespeare's King Lear, which begins previews February 28 at the Cort Theatre.

Directed by Sam Gold and starring Oscar and Tony winner Glenda Jackson in the title role, the production will officially open April 4 for a limited run through July 7.

The cast also includes newly announced Ian Lassiter as the King of France and Justin Cunningham as the Duke of Burgundy with ensemble members Che Ayende, Therese Barbato, Stephanie Roth Haberle, Daniel Marmion, and John McGinty.

These actors join previously reported cast members Tony winner Jayne Houdyshell as Earl of Gloucester, three-time Obie winner Elizabeth Marvel as Goneril, Aisling O’Sullivan as Regan, Pedro Pascal as Edmund, Tony nominee and two-time Drama Desk Award winner John Douglas Thompson as Earl of Kent, two-time Olivier winner and Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson as Cordelia/Fool, Sean Carvajal as Edgar, Dion Johnstone as Duke of Albany, Russell Harvard as Duke of Cornwall, and Matthew Maher as Oswald.
