Ball's program, according to the BBC Radio 2 website, will air Sunday mornings from 11 AM-1 PM. His first program is scheduled for April 6. In a statement Ball said, "This is a wonderfully exciting new challenge in my career. I hope listeners will make a regular date to have lunch with me on Sundays."

BBC Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas added, "Michael has proved to be an accomplished presenter on Radio 2 already. His warmth, obvious love of music and sense of humor make him perfect Sunday morning company."

Ball previously hosted "Ball Over Broadway" for Radio 2, a series that featured Ball's reviews of New York shows as well as his interviews with Manhattan-based directors, stars and producers.

Elaine Paige, the leading lady of the British musical theatre, also hosts a Sunday program on Radio 2. "Elaine Paige on Sunday" airs 1-2:30 PM.

Michael Ball, who was most recently on Broadway in The Woman in White, made his Broadway debut as Alex in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love, a role he created on the London stage. His other London stage credits include The Woman in White, The Pirates of Penzance, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Passion and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Ball's numerous, best-selling solo recordings include "Centre Stage," "Christmas," "Live at the Royal Albert Hall," "The Movies," "The Musicals," "First Love," "Always" and "Michael Ball." He was also seen in the New York City Opera production of Patience.
