News   Michael Cerveris Will Perform With The Lisps in Brooklyn May 20
Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris will join Brooklyn's indie-rock band The Lisps to celebrate the release of their new album "Are We At the Movies?" with a special performance May 20 at The Rock Shop.

In addition to their work as concert musicians, The Lisps are also the authors of Futurity, a new sci-fi musical set during the Civil War, which will have its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater in March 2012.

Cerveris (Sweeney Todd, In the Next Room) appeared in a previous concert presentation of the work that has music and lyrics by lead singer César Alvarez with The Lisps; and a book by Molly Rice and Alvarez.

The 8 PM concert will feature Cerveris, along with cast members from earlier presentations of Futurity, performing alongside The Lisps. "Are We At the Movies?" features several songs from the forthcoming musical.

For tickets to the performance, priced $10, visit TheRockShopNY, which is located at 249 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.
