News Michael Feinstein Plays Carnegie Hall March 9 Celebrated singer-pianist Michael Feinstein returns to Carnegie Hall March 9.

Feinstein's evening in the Isaac Stern Auditorium is titled My Romance: The Great American Songbook and will feature musical director John Oddo on piano. Feinstein will also be backed by George Rabbai (trumpet and flugelhorn), Dan Block (reeds), James Chirillo (guitar), Jay Leonhart (bass) and Dave Ratajczak (drums). Show time is 8 PM. Feinstein is also currently producing a new CD for Academy Award winner Liza Minnelli. The recording will be based on the music of Minnelli's godmother, Kay Thompson, who was a famed singer as well as an author and arranger. Minnelli will record songs that Thompson wrote and/or performed; she will be joined on the disc by Billy Stritch, Jim Caruso and Johnny Rodgers.

A four-time Grammy nominee, Michael Feinstein is often credited with reinvigorating the American popular song. The crooner has performed in concert halls around the world and on Broadway and now co-owns his own nightclub, Feinstein's at the Regency. His numerous solo recordings include "Michael and George: Feinstein Sings Gershwin," "Big City Rhythms" "Romance On Film, Romance On Broadway," "Michael Feinstein with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra" and "Only One Life: The Songs of Jimmy Webb." Feinstein's most recent recording is titled "Hopeless Romantics."
