Michael Feinstein's Australian fans had to wait until 1995 before he first performed in this country, but he is now about to embark on his third concert tour in three years.
Feinstein first performed in Australia at an exclusive engagement at the Myer Mural Hall as part of the Melbourne International Festival in 1995. At the time he was considered unknown to many except musical theatre fans who had discvered his recordings.
Since then, a second concert tour in 1996, appearances on local television and a televised concert on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Co.) have allowed his talent to reach a broader audience and establish a significant following and appreciation.
A second concert has been added to his forthcoming visit to Melbourne where he will perform at the Athenaeum Theatre on June 1 and 2. Other dates include Sydney's State Theatre on May 29, the Perth Concert Hall on June 8 and Her Majesty's Theatre in Adelaide on June 10.
