News Michael Frayn's Alphabetical Order, Staged by Keen Company, Begins Off-Broadway Sept. 14 The Keen Company launches its tenth anniversary season Off-Broadway Sept. 14 with Tony Award-winning U.K. playwright Michael Frayn's comedy Alphabetical Order.

The Keen Company has devoted its entire season to Frayn's work, which will also include a 25th anniversary staging of Benefactors. Carl Forsman helms Alphabetical Order, which will officially open Sept. 26 and run through Oct. 23 at the Clurman Theatre.

Alphabetical Order features Brad Bellamy, William Connell, John Windsor Cunningham, Margaret Daly, Paul Molnar, Angela Reed and Audrey Lynn Weston.

The play, according to the Keen Company, is described as such: "Set in a provincial newspaper office in the 1970s, where it’s just another day of chaos in the cuttings library: files all over the floor, phones ringing, but where is Lucy the librarian? Her life (when she finally arrives), and the lives of the journalists who take refuge in her muddled retreat, turn out to be as confused as the library itself. Into this comfortable little world steps Lesley, Lucy's new assistant. She's young, bright, and she wants system and order. Things are about to change."

Designing Alphabetical Order are Josh Bradford (lighting design), Jill Du Boff (sound design), Nathan Heverin (set design) and Jennifer Paar (costume design).

Frayn earned a Tony Award for his 2000 play Copenhagen. His plays also include Noises Off, Wild Honey, Democracy and Afterlife. Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting Telecharge.
