News Michael Harren’s The Animal Show to Play Dixon Place The composer and performer’s new multimedia performance piece conveys the importance of keeping animals safe from harm.

Dixon Place will present composer and performer Michael Harren’s multimedia performance piece The Animal Show October 27-29. Based on his real-life experiences as artist-in-residence at Tamerlaine Farm Animal Sanctuary, the show conveys the importance of keeping animals safe from harm.

Directed by Adam Fitzgerald, The Animal Show blends music, humor and story-telling to “inspire us to think differently about our relationships with all kinds of animals.”

Harren will perform on keyboard electronics, along with a string quartet. Watch a teaser trailer below:

Harren has toured as pianist with Sandra Bernhard, is the musical director for Cabaret for a Cause, and has performed at Dixon Place, Le Poisson Rouge, Joe’s Pub, Judson Memorial Church, Manhattan Theater Source, The Duplex, Don’t Tell Mama, The Laurie Beechman Theatre as well as numerous venues around the country.
