The King of Pop is ready for his Broadway bow, but first, he's heading to the Windy City. The previously reported Michael Jackson musical, now titled Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, will make its world premiere at Chicago's James M. Nederlander Theatre (formerly the Oriental), beginning performances October 29.

As reported earlier, the musical is slated to open on Broadway in 2020.

Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the show, which will focus on Jackson’s career in his 20s–30s, incorporating the music icon’s hits and a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage.

The show, initially announced in June 2018, received a 29-hour reading and developmental lab presentation last year.

Chicago has recently been host to several other Broadway musicals during their out-of-town tryouts, including Pretty Woman, The Cher Show (which played the same venue), and the incoming Tootsie.
