PlayBlog Michael McElroy Joins Seth Rudetsky on Playbill Video's "Obsessed!" (Video) Michael McElroy, who was nominated for a Tony Award and Drama Desk in 2004 for his performance in Big River, sat down with Seth Rudetsky for the latest episode of Playbill Video's "Obsessed!"

Here, McElroy talks about watching Rudetsky in a production of Dreamgirls with a cast of strictly altos. Instead of hitting the high notes in the Dreamgirls score, the girls took another option, using their lower register and, what McElroy likes to call, their "Baptist vibrato" to switch up the melodies.

Finally, Rudetsky has McElroy belt out "Free At Last," from Big River with minor alterations including the "Baptist vibrato," which clearly would have won him the 2004 Tony.
