Michael Urie's hit Off-Broadway solo show Buyer & Cellar gets its debut broadcast on THIRTEEN (WNET), the local PBS station in New York, December 5 at 10 PM ET.

Jonathan Tolins' play has a unique premise: An actor is hired to play a make-believe store proprietor in a faux mall that superstar Barbra Streisand has built in the basement of her mansion to store all her belongings. Urie plays not only the actor, but Streisand, his own mother, and all the other people he comes in contact with at the bizarre gig.

Urie, who also appeared on the ABC series Ugly Betty, and won the Clarence Derwent Award for his performance in Buyer & Cellar, originated the performance Off-Broadway in 2013 in a production that ran more than a year. Stephen Brackett directed the production on a virtually bare stage.

Urie and Brackett recreated the performance June 14-July 3 at Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, CT, where it was taped by THIRTEEN.

Subsequent broadcasts are scheduled for 1 AM December 11 on THIRTEEN and 10:30 PM Christmas Day on WLIW21. The broadcast is also scheduled to be livestreamed on the THIRTEEN website.
