Peter Ackerman, author of Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight, will premiere his second play, The Urn, July 8 at Off-Broadway's Irish Arts Center. Robert Davenport (You Deserve Love at HERE) directs the comedy, which officially opens July 10.
The Urn, a black comedy, looks at the chaos unleashed on a family with the reading of the father's cryptic will. Ackerman made his Off Broadway debut as an understudy on Visiting Mr. Green. Things You Shouldn't Say is enjoying a successful run at the Promenade Theatre, having begun performances there April 23. Erin Dilly (Babes in Arms) and Clea Lewis (Audrey on "Ellen") star.
The cast of The Urn features Pat Buckley, Schuyler Grant, Matt Lawler, Scott Predergast, Barbara Rubenstein, Greta Storace, Frank Vogt and John Wylie. Elizabeth Jones, M. Asher Richelli and Daniel Shiffman are producing.
Desiging Urn are Andrew Holland (set), Erica Surey (costumes), Les Dickert (lighting) and Geoff Zink (sound).
