Classic Arts News Midori Cancels Wisconsin Residency Because of Family Illness Violinist Midori has canceled two concerts and a weeklong residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison this week, the university announced.
According to the university, Midori has "suspended all engagements for the foreseeable future" because of "a sudden and serious illness in her immediate family."

The residency was to include master classes, discussions, and colloquia, as well as a performance with the UW Symphony on April 6 and a recital on April 7.

Patrons holding tickets for the recital will receive a gift certificate that can be exchanged for another ticket or a refund.
