News Millie's Creel To Star in "Eloise" Movies for ABC-TV Gavin Creel, who received a 2001 Tony nomination for his work in Thoroughly Modern Millie, will star in ABC's three new "Eloise" movies.

Variety reports that Creel will play Bill, a singing waiter and friend to Eloise in the TV movies, which star Sofia Vassilieva in the title role and Academy Award-winner Julie Andrews as her nanny. Filming for "Eloise" will take place in Toronto and New York, and Creel will continue in his role in the Tony-winning musical. He is scheduled to miss only 33 performances in the show, which is based on the film of the same name. Creel is making his Broadway debut in Millie playing Jimmy, the young man who eventually wins the affections of New York newcomer Millie Dillmount. A graduate of The University of Michigan, Creel appeared in the City Center Encores! production of Hair as well as the Off Broadway production of Bat Boy and the national tour of Fame. He also co-starred in the American premiere of Honk! and took part in the workshops of Spring Awakening, Hairspray and Wicked.

The "Eloise" films are based on the famed books about the adventures of a young girl who lives in New York's Plaza Hotel. Written by author (and singer, actress and vocal coach-arranger) Kay Thompson with illustrations by Hilary Knight, "Eloise" was first published in 1955.

Thoroughly Modern Millie plays the Marquis Theatre, which is located at Broadway and 46th Street. Call Ticketmaster at (212) 307-4100 for tickets.
