Tony-nominated actor Gavin Creel, last on Broadway in the revival of La Cage aux Folles, will be the special guest at ArtSpeak! Nov. 15 in Annandale, VA.

The arts education program will begin at 7 PM at the Poe Middle School Lecture Hall in Annandale, VA. ArtSpeak! brings performing artists to Northern Virginia schools; the evening will include an interview, a live performance and a question-and-answer session.

Those who have previously taken part in the program include such Broadway favorites as Judy Kuhn, Alice Ripley, Kristin Chenoweth, Melissa Errico, Sally Mayes, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Alan Campbell, Lauren Kennedy and Tony-winning A Chorus Line composer Marvin Hamlisch.

Gavin Creel was most recently on Broadway playing Jean-Michel in the revival of La Cage aux Folles at the Marquis Theatre. He portrayed Hollis Bessemer in Sondheim and John Weidman's Bounce and starred as Jimmy in the Tony-winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie (Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical). The actor was also seen in the City Center Encores! mounting of Hair and the Off-Broadway production of Bat Boy. His other theatrical credits include Honk!, Fame and the workshops of Spring Awakening, Hairspray and Wicked. Creel was also part of the cast of the TV films "Eloise at the Plaza" and "Eloise at Christmastime."

Creel's debut CD, entitled "Goodtimenation," features songs he co-wrote with Robbie Roth.
