Composer Milton Babbitt, dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis will be awarded honorary doctoral degrees at Juilliard's 101st commencement ceremony on May 26.

Babbitt is a Juilliard composition department faculty member; Bausch is a Juiiliard alumna; Marsalis is both a Juilliard faculty member and alumnus. Marsalis, who is also artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, is the commencement speaker.

Other recipients of honorary degrees include Robert Mann, violinist, conductor, teacher, composer, and founding first violinist (now retired) of the Juilliard String Quartet; and Martin E. Segal, former chairman of Lincoln Center.

Juilliard observed its 100th anniversary in 2005-06.
