The show, which was to have begun Oct. 11, will now have its first preview Oct. 12. Ticket holders for the Oct. 11 performance will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule to another available performance.
Tom Aldredge, Eartha Kitt, Candy Buckley, Robert DuSold, Allen Fitzpatrick, Ken Jennings and Marcus Neville also star. Golden, DuSold and Fitzpatrick are holdovers from the original 2004 New York International Fringe Festival staging. The New World Stages production will open on Oct. 31.

Mimi Le Duck began its life at upstate New York's Adirondack Theatre Festival in 2004. It then traveled to the Fringe that same year, playing the Player's Theatre at 115 MacDougal Street. The musical comedy boasts music by composer Brian Feinstein and lyrics and libretto by Diana Hansen-Young, and musical staging by Matt West.
Thomas Caruso, who directed the Fringe outing, once again stages the work. Caruso was associate director of Broadway's Bombay Dreams and resident director of Las Vegas' Mamma Mia!. He also piloted Off-Broadway's Bingo. The whimsical show is about Miriam (Golden), a restless Mormon housewife who leaves her husband to find herself in Paris. There she finds a wacky array of bohemian sorts familiar to anyone who's ever seen "La Boheme," "Gigi" or "An American in Paris."
The show provides Golden with a rare leading role. The actress has provided acclaimed supporting turns in shows such as Broadway's The Full Monty, On the Town and Ah! Wilderness, as well as the original Off-Broadway production of Assassins.
Kitt is the legendary singer and actress whose Broadway credits include The Wild Party, Timbuktu! and Nine. She was nominated for a Tony Award for the first two.
The show has scenic design by Tony Award winner John Arnone; costume design by Tony Award winner Ann Hould-Ward; and lighting design by David Lander. The production’s musical supervisor and orchestrator is Chris Fenwick.
Composer Feinstein is a recipient of the Jonathan Larson Memorial Fellowship Award; and earned his MFA from the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Feinstien is also a member of The Dramatist's Guild and ASCAP.
Lyricist-librettist Hansen-Young is an artist and writer in Hawaii and has authored and illustrated 16 books including "Painted Paradise," released in 2004. Hansen Young has held office both in the Hawaii State Constitutional and State House of Representatives. She also earned her MFA from NYU in writing and is a published member of the Mystery Writers of America.
