News Minnelli's Next Performance Is in Providence, RI Liza Minnelli's official U.S. website confirms that the Academy Award-winning actress-singer will be back on tour shortly, weeks after a December collapse on stage in Sweden.

The site has posted a recent Associated Press story citing Minnelli's lawyer, Allen Arrow, who told AP Jan. 2, "Not to worry," and that she's expected to be in rehearsals for her next gig — a Jan. 12 performance in Providence, RI.

She collapsed on stage Dec. 12 in Sweden, and flew back to the U.S. to meet with her doctor.

In addition, www.officiallizaminnelli.com indicates that tickets went on sale Jan. 4 for Minnelli's March 14 Hard Rock Café concert in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In between Jan. 12 and March 14 she is booked for engagements in Friant, CA; Lake Tahoe, CA; Palm Springs, CA; and Santa Barbara, CA.

The Jan. 12 concert at Providence Performing Arts Center is part of the Rhode Island venue's annual gala — this year celebrating its 80th anniversary. The gala, which will commence immediately following Minnelli's 7:30 PM performance, "will feature dozens of fabulous food stations from some of Rhode Island's finest restaurants."

The Providence Performing Arts Center was opened as a Loew's Movie Palace on Oct. 6, 1928. It was designed by George and C.W. Rapp of Chicago, brothers who became renowned as one of the finest teams of theatre architects in America. For more information, visit www.ppacri.org.
