Classic Arts News Minnesota Public Radio to Archive Minnesota Orchestra Broadcasts Online Minnesota Public Radio will begin offering live recordings of the Minnesota Orchestra on demand over its web site, the network and the orchestra announced.
MPR has broadcast Minnesota Orchestra concerts since 1974. Under the new arrangement, selected broadcasts will be archived on the MPR site for up to a year.

The Minnesota Orchestra will not be the first American orchestra to offer broadcasts over the Internet. But free live recordings available for an extended period are rare.

"If a music lover cannot attend one of our concerts or listen to the live broadcast, now they will have access to hear what they've done, at their leisure," music director Osmo V‹ns‹ said. "We are very pleased that MPR will help make our music widely available for people anywhere in the world."
