Jerry Ruiz directs the romantic comedy that played a four-performance Broadway run in 1947. The revival began previews May 26 and was originally slated to close July 22. It will now play an extra week of performances through July 29.

Heidi Armbruster plays Annabelle opposite Angela Pierce as Jane. The characters are based on Love Goes to Press authors Gellhorn and Cowles. The cast also includes Rob Breckenridge, Peter Cormican, Bradford Cover, Curzon Dobell, David Graham Jones, Thomas Matthew Kelley, Ned Noyes, Jay Patterson and Margot White.

Gellhorn served as a 1937 correspondent during the Spanish Civil War, during which time she had an affair and subsequent five-year marriage to Ernest Hemingway. She was later among the first female journalists to enter Dachau. Cowles was also a journalist and author, who covered the Allied invasion of Germany and the liberation of Paris.

The play is billed as "a frothy concoction, a romantic comedy set in a press camp in Italy in 1944. The cast of characters includes a tough American newspaperman, recently divorced from one of the heroines: 'You can’t tell from the outside that he’s got the character of a cobra. From the outside he’s a beautiful, funny, fascinating man,'" a reference to Hemingway. Love Goes to Press "paints a delicious portrait of two smart, funny, brave, ambitious and complex women—working just miles from the front lines (as Cowles and Gellhorn did), surrounded by less competent, less adventurous men."

Love Goes to Press has scenic design by Steven Kemp, costume design by Andrea Varga, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis and sound design by Jane Shaw.
