Entitled Miss White House, Ira Shapiro's play will officially open Nov. 20. Kaitlin Stillwell will star under the direction of Harland Meltzer. Sylvia Tosun has penned music for the production.
"On the eve of the presidential election," press notes state, "Miss White House must meet the challenges of society and her imagination to succeed. Surprise and enchantment follow as you are whisked from the election headquarters champagne reception into the private dressing room of Miss White House and join her on an extraordinary journey through time and her fantasies. With unexpected guests, East Asian yoga, a stint of celebrity jail time, and an attack on her home by congress, [the play] romps through her past, present and future in this magical journey. She reminisces about the beauty contest of her past, her relationship with her high-school sweetheart, and the football team that they were on together."
