Quiara Alegría Hudes and Erin McKeown’s new Off-Broadway musical Miss You Like Hell, which officially opens April 10 at The Public Theater, will play an additional week. Previously scheduled through May 6, the show will now continue through May 13.
Miss You Like Hell tells the story of undocumented immigrant Beatriz (Daphne Rubin-Vega), on the road trip of a lifetime with her estranged 16-year-old daughter, Olivia (Gizel Jiménez). Watch highlights from the musical mother-daugther odyssey in the video above.
The New York premiere, directed by Lear deBessonet with choreography by Danny Mefford, began performances March 20.
Completing the cast are Marinda Anderson (Ensemble), Danny Bolero (Manuel), Andrew Cristi (Ensemble), Latoya Edwards (Pearl), Shawna M. Hamic (Ensemble), Marcus Paul James (Ensemble), David Patrick Kelly (Higgins), and Michael Mulheren (Mo).
Miss You Like Hell had its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2016 starring Rubin-Vega as Beatriz. The musical features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful) and music by singer-songwriter McKeown.
