Ghostlight Records will celebrate the release of the original cast recording of Miss You Like Hell with a concert at Joe's Pub October 8. The one-night-only benefit will feature members of the creative team and original cast and will benefit Madre, an organization that works with migrant mothers and families separated by migration.
Miss You Like Hell premiered Off-Broadway at The Public Theater in April starring Daphne Rubin-Vega and Gizel Jiménez as an undocumented immigrant mother and daughter on the road trip of a lifetime.
With a book and lyrics by Quiara Alegría Hudes, music and lyrics by Erin McKeown, and choreography by Danny Mefford, the new musical was directed by the Public's resident director and founder of Public Works, Lear deBessonet.
The cast also featured Marinda Anderson, Danny Bolero, Andrew Cristi, Latoya Edwards, Shawna M. Hamic, Marcus Paul James, Gizel, David Patrick Kelly, Michael Mulheren, and Martín Solá.
Miss You Like Hell — Original Cast Recording will be released digitally October 5 with a physical CD available later this year. The recording was produced by McKeown, with Ghostlight founder Kurt Deutsch serving as executive producer. To pre-order the album, click here.
Miss You Like Hell had its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2016 starring Rubin-Vega as Beatriz.
