News Mitchell to Sign "Broadway Bares Backstage Pass" at Barnes and Noble June 27 Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell will celebrate the photographic chronicle of Broadway Bares – "Broadway Bares Backstage Pass" – at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble on June 27.

Chronicling 17 years of the annual Broadway burlesque fundraiser, "Backstage Pass" includes behind-the-scene photos from numerous installments of Broadway Bares, as well as video stills and shots of celebrities who have participated, including Cyndi Lauper, Alan Cumming, David Hyde Pierce and Nathan Lane.

Joining Mitchell for the 5:30 PM discussion and signing will be Broadway Bares participants Angie Schworer (The Producers), Sebastian La Cause (Rocky Horror Show), Michael Curry (Cabaret), Matthew Risch (Legally Blonde) and Julio Agustin (Never Gonna Dance).

Originally founded in 1991 by Mitchell – who at the time was dancing in the chorus of The Will Rogers FolliesBroadway Bares has raised over $5.6 million dollars benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Mitchell is now the event's executive producer.

The 18th annual Broadway Bares: Wonderland – held June 22 at Roseland Ballroom – raised $874,372 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Jerry Mitchell made his Broadway directorial debut in 2007 with the musical Legally Blonde, which he also choreographed. Mitchell is a 2005 Tony Award winner for Best Choreography for La Cage aux Folles. That same year the prolific choreographer was nominated for Best Choreography for his work on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He has received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for choreographing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hairspray, The Full Monty and Never Gonna Dance. His film work includes "In & Out," "Camp," "Drop Dead Gorgeous" and "Scent of a Woman." This year Mitchell earned Olivier Award nominations for the London production of Hairspray and is currently at work on the upcoming musical Catch Me If You Can, as well as a stage adaptation of the film "Mad Hot Ballroom."
