News MN’s Guthrie Hosts MAX Conference Aug. 8-10 Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater will host its tenth annual MAX conference August 8-10. MAX is the Minnesota Arts experience, a three day event sponsored by the Minnesota Center for Arts Education, the Blandin Foundation and the Guthrie Theater.

Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater will host its tenth annual MAX conference August 8-10. MAX is the Minnesota Arts experience, a three day event sponsored by the Minnesota Center for Arts Education, the Blandin Foundation and the Guthrie Theater.

The conference brings over 150 high school students, teachers, parents and school administrators from across the state together with Guthrie professionals and community representatives for workshops and lectures.

Attending the conference will be playwright and performer Kevin Kling (Home And Away, Lloyd's Prayer, Ice-Fishing), playwright and novelist Syl Jones (Troupers) and Michael Tillmann, Director of Graduation Standards with the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning.

Conference participants will attend the Guthrie production of You Can’t Take It With You and two one-act productions at Mixed Blood Theater.
