Austin Pendleton will direct a reading of "Roads Not Taken: Six Unpublished Scenes from Streetcar" at the National Arts Club. Matthew Modine and Judith Light will read the roles of, respectively, Stanley Kowalski and Blanche Du Bois. Lunch begins at 12:30 PM followed by the 1:30 PM reading. Best known for her work on TV's "Who's The Boss?" and "One Life to Live," Emmy Award winner Judith Light has appeared on Broadway in A Doll's House and Herzl. She also acted Off-Broadway in Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Wit. Light will soon be seen as Joanne in the Reprise! mounting of Stephen Sondheim's Company.
Matthew Modine was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for his performance in the 1993 television production "And the Band Played On." His other screen credits include "Private School," "Streamers," "The Hotel New Hampshire," "Full Metal Jacket," "Orphans," "Gross Anatomy," "Pacific Heights," "Wind," "Short Cuts," "Jacob," "Bye Bye, Love," "Fluke," "Any Given Sunday," "Flowers for Algernon," "Nobody's Baby," "In the Shadows," "The Shipment" and "Hitler: The Rise of Evil."
