Aiken, who made his Broadway debut in Monty Python's Spamalot, performed "This Is the Moment" and "Home," while Memphis Tony nominee Glover belted out "Love Will Stand" from that Tony-winning musical. The cast of Newsies also delighted the sold-out crowd with a concert version of the new musical's "Seize the Day."

The one-night-only event, which celebrated the Family Equality Council's 30th anniversary, also honored Tony-winning Normal Heart producer Daryl Roth and Freedom to Marry CEO Scott Davenport.

Roth was presented with the Hostetter-Habib Family Award for her continued support of the LGBT community. Broadway producer Jordan Roth made a surprise appearance in order to present his mother with her award.

Honoree Daryl Roth told May 9, "It was a proud moment for me to be honored by the Family Equality Council at their 30th anniversary celebration last night, and be presented the award by my son Jordan. As a parent and grandparent, I believe in their mission that all families deserve equality, protection, and respect and unconditional love. Family Equality Council is working to make our society a stronger, safer, and more loving environment for all of our families, gay and straight. This is something worth supporting."

Singer-actress Glover added, "The Family Quality Council is such an outstanding organization, so committed to strengthening our communities. I was overjoyed to celebrate its 30th anniversary." The Family Equality Council is a national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents in the U.S. who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.
